MEDITATIONS

Can the butterfly be
less beautiful
within than without?

The highest virtue is to be.
But how rarely we ever are!
The highest good is to be one.
How rarely, fleetingly are we ever one!
All folly, all misery, all pain,
is denial of being,
negation of our integrity.
Thus taught wise Spinoza.

I found God homeless;
I housed him in my inner sanctuary.
